It’s simple! Come to Strasburg-Heisler Library with a current photo ID. A library card will be issued to you within minutes.

You may register for a TEMPORARY card online.

After you complete the form, you will receive a temporary library card number that you can use to sign in to many of our library’s online resources.

Your temporary library card is valid for 3 months. You must visit Strasburg-Heisler Library to upgrade your temporary library card to a full access library card.

Yes, every three years in order to verify or update your contact information.

Yes, as long as it is from a public library in Lancaster County. Check the labels – some items must be returned to their home library.

A lot! DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, magazines, games, puzzles, toys, Launchpads, STEAM toys, STEM coding kits, American girl dolls and clothes, laptops, free wifi, copy and fax machines, and MORE MORE MORE.

Libraries do receive money from the PA Department of Education, but it is not nearly enough! Strasburg-Heisler Library receives support from Strasburg Borough and Township, as well as West Lampeter Township and the L-S School District. Sadly, this is still not enough.

We are financially dependent on our local community members!

  • Come to fundraising events with your friends!  You’ll meet other people who also love your library.
  • Talk to your friends and neighbors about your library. Maybe you will surprise them with the opportunities that they never knew about.

We have very little storage space, therefore we can accept a box or a bag of books that are in excellent condition and are less than 3 years from the time of publication. It is at the library staff’s discretion if donated items will be added to the lending collection, sold, or discarded.

We cannot accept textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias or similar sets, computer manuals, condensed books, or VHS tapes.

Items that are moldy, dirty, damaged, bug infested, or have been chewed by a living thing have no value to the library.

Yes, we offer computer-help appointments.

From your app store, download the Libby app. Choose Library System of Lancaster County as your home library. You will need to enter your library card number to activate your Libby account. Follow the simple prompts to start reading!
