Without Ken Heisler there would be no library in Strasburg

A memorial event will be held at the Fireside Tavern beginning at 11:30 am on Saturday May 20 2017, just after burial at the Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.

Ken Heisler was an integral part of the library since 1983 when he purchased the former Bell Telephone building on W. Main St. to be the Kenneth M. Heisler Library Center. 16 years later, the library moved to its current location becoming the Strasburg-Heisler Library since Mr. Heisler was its main supporter.  He continued to be for the rest of his life. He not only gave financial support, but much appreciated recommendations and encouragement.

Ken Heisler’s thoughts on giving: “Give of your mind. That’s what people gave me. A mother, a teacher, a next-door neighbor – everyone can help someone with a little information. Give of your energy. Not everyone has money to give. Give of your heart.”
